Bush takes his green polluter label as a joke
Seems the President of the USA George W. Bush made a remark that may go down in history as the most foolish goof ups made by a leader. He ended a private meeting held to discuss carbon emissions with the words: "Goodbye from the world's biggest polluter." He then punched the air while grinning widely, as the rest of those present including Gordon Brown and Nicolas Sarkozy looked on in shock. He left the meeting at the Windsor Hotel in Hokkaido where the leaders of the world's richest nations had been discussing new targets to cut carbon emissions. Onlookers were aghast at the President making a joke on the country's pollution reputation.
Another goof up was in the press pack given to journalists by The White House which described the Italian Prime Minister Silvio Berlusconi as being the most controversial leaders in the history of a country known for government corruption and vice. After apologizing to the goof up; The White House clarified that an official had merely lifted the description from the internet without reading it. Now isn't that a legendary excuse especially after the goof-up they did by electing the current leader twice.
