Bang & Olufsen BeoVox 1 Speakers

bang_olufsen.jpgBeoVox 1 is the latest from Bang & Olufsen that combines excellent sound with sleek looks. With the versatility of placing them at places where “active loudspeakers fall short”; Beo Vox 1, a passive loudspeaker, is something that customers have always wanted. This is what their Product Manager Michael Jensen, have to say: "We have had many customer requests for a loudspeaker solution that can be used in bathrooms and other wet rooms or outside on the terrace. A lot of customers have asked for a complete Bang & Olufsen solution that integrates with their BeoLink system and Beo4 remote control, and we have not been able to meet this demand with our active loudspeaker range until now". Beo Vox 1 is a built-in loudspeaker that can be fitted almost anywhere. Designed by David Lewis, this speaker system has been designed to provide the best acoustic when fitted in walls or ceilings. The edges of the loudspeaker units are carefully curved to avoid diffractions, which may hamper the sound performance.

bang_olufsen_2.jpgWith the flick of a switch you could adjust the treble performance to three different levels. Bang & Olufsen’s Beo Vox 1 oval shape is quite deliberate. It has a frequency range of 50-20,000 Hz. A Two-way passive system, (1" treble unit, 6.5" mid-range/bass unit), it has the following dimensions: (H x W x D) Visible size is 25 x 29.5 x 2.3 cm In-wall depth is approx. 8.3 cm. For better acoustics the process to apply the pain to the grills is quite different too. This is what they had to say, “Another front grill detail is the painting process we apply", explains Acoustic Engineer Jens Rahbek. "When applying paint to the surface, we have chosen to use a rotary atomizer painting system which ensures close spray-pattern control, so paint is only applied to the surface and does not penetrate into the holes. This is done to have full control of the acoustic performance, as the size of the holes has a great effect on the loudspeaker's performance." The speakers are available in black and white colors.
