Backup program nabs burglar

backup_in_google.jpg On May 5th around 6 in the evening, one of the community workers accidently left his laptop in his car when he parked it near corner of Hearst Avenue and Euclid Avenue. Just before 8 in the evening, a burglar smashed the car window and stole the laptop which was kept in the rear. The victim reported burglary but there were no significant leads that could lead to an investigation. Now this is really interesting what you will be reading ahead. A backup program had been installed by the victim on his laptop. The burglar probably must have felt that it has been a long time since he took his own photographs and proceeded to take pictures with the camera of the laptop. He later uploaded these pictures on the internet. The victim discovered these pictures and handed over them to the police who later identified him as Vega who was just released from jail. The pictures were analyzed by detectives and they found out that he was in some motel.

Since the laptop was used to upload pictures by using the motel’s wireless internet, the detectives started finding out the IP address from where it was logged. But not waiting for that to be revealed, detectives started looking into all the motels. While checking on one of the motels, Vega was spotted getting into a car was arrested immediately. It seems that the laptop was not the only stolen item. His girlfriend was also Maria was also arrested during the investigation at the motel.
