Audio for your Motorcycle from Honda

Gather M" the sound system for Motorbikes from Honda uses Victor (JVC) "DD" speaker technology. The cylinder shaped speaker and the control switch are installed on the handle of the motorcycle. The control switch can be connected to the iPod or a similar audio player. The DD system has speakers aligned vertically and the sound is spread over 360 degrees. However some modification has been done for the Motorcycle speakers and the speakers are arranged horizontally so that the sound does not spread from the left and right and is focussed only on the driver's side.

    I did some research on this.. JVC sells the stereo in the US as model DD3 (about $750) since I just wanted the speaker I called up their parts department to find a price on their center channel speaker (has 2 speakers). I was hoping it would be around $100 but it lists for $277! The part number is ab133026-01 in case you wanted one.

    again this is JUST for the speaker.. no volume control, no amplifier/stereo.., no mounting brackets, so if you wanna be cutting edge and give it a try.. by all means. Dunno if it's even water resistant. BUT if you DO decide to get it.. please email me with your progress / finished product. I'd be very curious to see the outcome. Cheer.
