Asus AiGuru SV1- A Skype phone from an 80s tech show

aigurusv1_NL.jpg Asus knows a thing or two about creating world class Windows Mobile smartphones. This makes one wonder how this company can go so wrong, the company that gave us the Eee PC has now brought the Asus AiGuru SV1. This Ugly looking device is a Skype-enabled videophone that works without the aid of a computer. It is a standalone device that lets you do the Skype video thing over a Wi-Fi connection. Naturally, Skype-based voice calls work just fine as well. The AiGuru allows for an 802.11 b/g wireless or to Ethernet via router. The phone has the awesomely amazing talktime of 20mins, why on earth would someone want to talk to anybody else for longer than that. For free that too!

The Asus AiGuru SV1 will be available this October for about $299. In case you wake up on the wrong side of the bed and decide to buy it, we are glad to inform you that you won’t have to queue up for it all night long.
