Art Lebedev Studio designs WiMAX concept phone for Scartel and Samsung partnership

scartel1.jpg OLED keyboard and keypad maker Art Lebedev Studio has developed a cellphone concept for Russian network provider Scartel. Scartel LLC, announced that they selected Samsung Electronics as an exclusive Mobile WiMAX equipments vendor for Moscow and St. Petersburg. According to Scartel LLC., they have deployed Mobile WiMAX network in Moscow and Saint Petersburg, the two largest cities of Russia, and are planning to expand nationwide gradually. Specs are short, but from the photos one can glean that two integrated cameras adorn each side of the handset, and there is a 3.5mm headphone jack, USB connection and a microSD card slot. A/V connections are likewise part of the phone's connections. Auxiliary controls to supplement the touchscreen come by way of a five-way joystick, call, and end keys. Hold, volume, and mute controls are on the side of the handset.

Samsung is providing Mobile WiMAX total solution including 1600 base stations, Access Service Network gateway and related equipments as well as services to Scartel.
