Apple makes it to the top 10 among biggest phone makers

Apple-Logo.jpg According to the Financial Times on 28 Feb, 2008 report by Gartner, Apple has made it to the number 10 spot for the fourth quarter sales of handsets in 2007. Apple's 0.6% market share earned it this position in its first year as a mobile phone manufacturer. According to the report mobile phone manufacturers shipped nearly 1.3 billion new phones in 2007. Please note that it is 50% more than the total installed base of personal computers, and about the same number of total internet users worldwide or the total number of all fixed landline phones in the world. The mobile phone industry sold 1.3 billion NEW phones last year, up from 1 Billion the year before.
