Apple has been offering $30 credit for iTunes to people because of the difficulty in activating the new iPhone 3G S. Apple claims to be still working with AT&T to resolve this issue that has caused some new iPhones to still not be activated 2 days after the launch of the device and it is going to take another 48 hours before it sees the light of the day. Well this is just another indication that it is high time that Apple looked for other carriers instead of this exclusivity. It is still bad compared to last year’s nightmare because the handsets were on pre-order and AT&T had enough time to see what it was getting into. Another hilarious fact is that MMS is not activated in the United States when it is so in 20+ countries and it is just the same story for tethering too. Both are hopefully expected to hit the streets by this summer. The other fact I want to enlighten you all about is that the 3G S is much faster than the 3G, up to 7.2Mbps now but hold on, don’t get excited, AT&T’s network can’t do the same yet and may not be in place for a couple of years more.
