Any takers for 1965 Shelby Daytona Cobra Coupe – only 10 million pounds

shelby-daytona.jpg Yes, that is the price that is being expected when the 1965 Shelby Daytona Cobra Coupe is being put for auction. It is predicted to fetch anywhere between $10 and $15 million (about 6.8 to 10.2 British Pounds). If it crosses $10.9 million (GBP 7.4 million), it will be the most expensive classic car ever to be sold taking over the title from the 1961 Ferrari California Spyder sold by RM last year. You all out there must be wondering why this is so expensive! Because it is only one of the six that is ever built and is a bona fide champion, which clinched the FIA GT III championship in 1965 at Reims in the hands of Bob Bondurant against the always dominant Ferraris! The now fully restored Daytona Coupe will be up for sale on May 18th in Indianapolis at the Mecum auction house. We will keep you updated if this is going to be the world’s most expensive classic car ever.
