Altec Lansing FX3022 Expressionist Bass are speakers that produce the Oomph without the box

altec-lansing-fx3022.jpg The latest generation of Altec Lansing speakers, the FX3022 Expressionist Bass, make an interesting set of speakers. Expressionist Bass are meant to be an audio treat for music lovers. The Cherry of the device is at the bottom of each speaker in the form of a 4-inch down-firing subwoofer driver, which provides a power output of 9W. The idea, of course, is to provide enough low-frequency oomph to be able to match a 2.1 solution with a dedicated subwoofer. This means no more space-hogging subwoofer that sits on the floor. Despite the fact that its glossy, piano black finish is prone to fingerprints, it still adds a touch of elegance to the speakers. Users can find the power and volume buttons on top of the right speaker, with the power button lighting up when the unit is on.

The Altec Lansing FX3022 Expressionist Bass will set you back approx $115, it has no bundled remote, which means that users would have to stand up or reach over to adjust the volume.
