Ality's Wireless PIXXA WiFi digital photo frame features instant messaging
The digital photo frame has come a long way since it first made an appearance. From merely displaying slideshows, it's gone on to add so many new features that every day you have something new on them. The latest on to make news is the new Wireless PIXXA frame from Ality. To add functionality to a frame, it features Wi-Fi connectivity, instant messaging, automatic news flash and weather reports plus multiple user accounts allowing each member of the family to set-up their own multi-media libraries and personalize display preferences. On the face of it, it sports an 8-inch digital LCD display and can send photos directly via the web (via the net or from PIXXA to PIXXA frame) using the instant messenger application which also supports a chat function. With the Live Calendar feature you can synchronize your schedules with online calendar websites without the need for a computer and photos can be attached to special dates. You can even send greeting cards and invitations digitally and Ality offer an online account for photo-sharing services that includes 50MB of photo storage and the ability to automatically resize photos to suit a variety of digital photo frame settings.
The Live News feature allows for customization of wireless feeds to be directly sent to the PIXXA digital photo frame for news, sports, weather, traffic, entertainment, horoscopes and stock quote updates. You will be able to catch Ality's Wireless PIXXA digital photo frame at the 2008 International Consumer Electronics Show next month. It will be out for sale in the first half of 2008 and will be priced around $299.
