The Tokyo Institute of technology (known as MIT of the East) held a special exhibition this week in its campus showcasing advanced robotics. Among the various robots the ACM-R3 snake type robot stole the show. For smooth motion it is divided into equal parts just like a train. Each link has an independent servo motor and a microprocessor for control. It can move if placed on any of the four sides and it can also raise its front section (neck) just like a real snake.
