At the Computex 2009 Acer unveiled the 'Aspire One' netbook running on Android operating system. Google's operating system was initially meant for mobile phone but has now crossed over to netbooks as well. According to the company, the Android operating system will provide Acer netbook user with faster connection to the Internet, further enhancing efficiency on-the-go along. Jim Wong, president of IT products at Acer, said the main attraction of using the Android system was its fast start-up time. “No other operating system allows users to power up [the computer] in 18 seconds and power down in one second,” he said.
