A real Tachikoma unleashed in Japanese streets

tachikoma-real-robot.jpg If you don’t have very pleasant memories from the bad bot in the sci-fi flick, Ghost in the Shelf then this is going to be very bad news for you. Spotted in Japan, is a real, movable Tachikoma that moves around. Though the number of limbs is quite debatable, the work put in by San Kougie to design this transportation device in the shape of the defamed robot has to be appreciated. This replica will shed some light on some of the wonders of remote controllers since it has to be maneuvered using a remote from the inside.

The Tachikoma doesn’t really have too much relevance as compared to Darth Vader and Robocop. But the graduation of the products named after it, from a mere toy to a human controlled megabot is enough evidence that I’m wrong.
