A gentler robotic hand from Harvard and Yale
We have seen many robotic arms being designed to handle fine objects like surgical equipments and gems. However, the true wonder of robotics is hidden in the sense of touch. Can robots reach that level? Well they have, apparently. This cool robot works on just a single motor and has four fingers that can mimic the human hand by first feeling the object and then grip it with appropriate pressure.
The ‘gentle robotic hand’ was developed by Aaron Dollar from Yale University. It has four plastic fingers with embedded sensors.
