26 Gigapixel Photo sets world record

26_Gigapixel_Photo.jpg Image stitching doesn’t have any limits. However, you’ve got to get on with some seriously goof camera work if you want images that can live up to the mark of a well-stitched image. Thanks to the efforts of A.F.B. Media GmbH, Dresden, Germany, we have ‘the world largest photograph ever created with a DSLR’. It took about 1655 images clicked with a Canon 5D Mark II and a 400 lens. Each image has a resolution of 21.6 megapixels. It took just under 3 hours to click these. The stitching was done on a computer with 16 processors and 48 GB of RAM.

After toiling together with the images for about 94 hours, the final output managed to roll out as an amazing monster of an image.
