2.5 Gigapixel Digital Picture - the largest in the world


While we are stuck with measly 8 - 10 Megapixel cameras, imaging enthusiasts in Netherlands have created the Gigapixel project which employs a 4 Gigapixel camera (1000 Megapixel = 1 Gigapixel).

The above picture was taken from the top of a 100 feet tall university building in Delft Netherlands. The image is composed of 600 individual images which were later merged, it took 75 minutes to take all the pictures and the original picture was 7.5 Gigabytes in size.
