At the Tokyo Game Show Ken Kutragi head honcho of Sony Computer Entertainment threw in a few surprises for Playstation 3 fans. First of all is the inclusion of the HDMI port for the 20GB version which was earlier optional in order to keep costs low, it is however standard on the 60GB version. So finally you can enjoy high-def gaming on your large LCD without any extra cost. Still Wi-Fi (IEEE 802.11b/g) and the 3 in 1 card reader remain optional for the 20GB model. Secondly the price has been reduced from an earlier 59,800 ($ 499) to 49,980 Yen ($ 425) almost a 10,000 Yen drop ($ 85) which we call as the Wii effect. The revised pricing is for the Japanese market and the US pricing remains the same ($ 499).

European and Asian fans will still have to wait for till March 2007 before they can lay their hands on one. Actually it is for the good as by that time all teething problems will be solved and plus you will have a large library of games to choose from.
