2008 Lexus LX 570 unveiled at New York International Auto

With gas prices on the rise, do we really need a larger engine in Lexus' biggest SUV? Let me tell you that former Lexus LX 470's name gets its upgrade for 2008 to 570 thanks to the new 5.7-liter V-8 engine. Recently unveiled at the 2007 New York International Auto Show, this colossal beauty can turn out 381 horsepower, over 110 more than the vehicle it replaces and over 400 lb.-ft. of torque. The engine will be mated to a new six-speed sequential-shift automatic transmission. The new LX 570 will also feature a multi-terrain ABS braking system that will help reduce stopping distances on slippery surfaces such as sand or gravel. So you can indulge in more accurate skidding stunts! For drivers who face hassles with parking especially with such gigantic vehicle, a new blind corner monitor feature designed for use in urban settings such as exiting a parking garage. Check out more images of this giant.....

The overall wheelbase of the new LX 570 is unchanged from its predecessor, but interior and exterior length has increased by at least four inches and width by nearly an inch. Other luxurious amenities (obviously optional) includes climate controlled front seats and heated rear seats, a 19-speaker Mark Levinson audio system with Reference Surround Sound and a hard disc drive capable of storing up to 2,000 songs, a rear seat entertainment system with a nine-inch screen, the Lexus Intuitive Park Assist, a first-in-its-class Pre-Collision System with Adaptive Cruise Control and Lexus Link. This LX570 will go on sale in the U.S. at the beginning of 2008. So guys you have enough time to save up!
