Since the Android phones that are around aren’t too stimulating to the curious gizmo freaks, I too wasn’t too excited about Motorola’s venture into the same. However, the Calgary seems to be something that may step out of the stereotype. Firstly, it will be on Verizon and secondly, the QWERTY slider phone out looks pretty good itself (it looks a lot like a MOTORazr annex to some extent, so you can expect some revolution against it). The main focus...
Keeping the end user in mind rather than competitive strategies, Samsung has spun out two cool camcorders that are designed to kill. The SMX-C14 and the SMX-C10 march in with uber cool, alien-like design with some of the slickest curves you would ever see in a camcorder, thanks to the ToCa (Touch of Colora) finish. Both cameras feature a swiveling 2.7 inch display, Samsung’s Active Angle Lens technology, 10x optical zoom 230,000 dot and more than 2 hours 40...

You all out there must be...
Yes! You have read the title correctly. It is being claimed that South Korean scientists have successfully cloned four dogs that can glow red in the dark. This if actually, possibly true can have major implications in medical science. The four cloned beagles look perfectly alright in daylight but several body parts glow red in the dark including the nails, skin, eyes and abdomen. The entire body glows under ultraviolet light. This is because of a gene which produces...

If the mere prototype of an airship creates such a stir, then it’s time to ready ourselves to be faced with a manmade phenomenon in the near future. The scientists at DARPA are all geared up to conjure a 1/3 scale model of a fantastic, futuristic spy airship that will have 15 storey radars! It is said that the airship will have X-band radar system which will occupy 100 sq. m. It will also have a UHF-band system that...
Industrial Technology Research Institute from Taiwan has made paper-thin speakers called Flexspeakers. They will be currently sold in the dimensions of 8.5 x 11 inches sheets costing $20. They will be available in much larger sheets or even rolls. The speakers are made by layering thin electrodes and a prepolarized diaphragm between two thin sheets of paper. Their first application is to use Flexspeakers in cars and next as movie theater posters. There is one catch to this though;...
Farbs who was a game developer working for 2K Australia quit his job by creating a custom game. He combined elements of Mario and a small splash of his own game Polychromatic Funk Monkey and delivered one of the most entertaining and out of this world “I Quit” notices known worldwide! I guess the classic way of ‘stop showing up for work’ method of resignation is all gone now. Well I guess this is what they mean when they...
Have you ever got lost in a really big size supermarket and wished you had a GPS to find your way around. Well scientists are working on a device which works like a car navigation system that will help elderly and physically challenged people in supermarkets. Oh! I guess I forgot to mention that you should be old enough for such a device. This is a part of government-funded research at three centers, mainly Newcastle, Aberdeen and Nottingham universities....

The remainder of Nokia N97's technical details have been posted on the Nokia dev forum. Apparently the N97 will be powered by a single-core ARM 11 clocked at 434MHz which is just 65 Mhz than the 5800's. It is zippier but when compare it to the Samsung i810 which runs a higher-performance 600MHz ARM Cortex-A8, it is nowhere close to fast. Lastly the specs sheet reveals that the N97 can be charged via Micro-USB something which the 5800 cant....
